Today we start the Amazon 2 night's river cruise journey. We will depart Hotel Tropical early afternoon, and sail the Solimoes Rivers looking for the local "caboclos" and enjoy their way of life, walk through the forest, fish for piranhas. As we sail, we will have a presentation on board of staff, route and facilities and you will enjoy your welcome drink. Navigating past Manaus to the Xiborena region. Canoe trip in smaller creeks to see life on the flood plains: jute, market-garden produce, rubber trees, as well as flood plain forest and lakes with giant water lilies (can be seen in season). This trip returns after sunset, so that we can observe night life, including caimans. Navigating up the Amazon (the upper part called Solimões by the natives) to lake Janauaca. Dinner on the way. Continue the Amazon River cruise journey. Early morning we will enjoy a canoe trip for bird watching. There are good chances of seeing Hoatzins and large flocks of Egrets and Cirmorants. After breakfast on board we will visit with the inhabitants of the lake who live from manioc plantations, fishing, diverse fruit trees, rubber, Brazil nut trees, wood and other extractive products. Walk in the forest with commentaries by the specialist. After lunch we will continue sailing; and later we will fish for piranhas and other types of fish. After dinner, we will have a night trip to see nocturnal animals, sometimes including night-hawk, snakes, toro-rats, sloths and frogs. Navigation downstream on the Amazon. ( B/L/D)

A fascinating trip to the “Meeting of the Waters”, where the Rio Negro’s clear dark waters meet the murky waters of the Amazonas and flow side by side without mixing for several miles.
Bird-watching and navigating along the "Meeting of the waters" and then back to Manaus with views of the floating ducks, markets and unique architecture. Disembark and check-in at Hotel Tropical. Rest of the day at leisure. (B)
